We shot Kristen StephensonPino at Halona Cove on the island of Oahu. The spot is famously known for the filming of From Here to Eternity (1953). At sunrise, Kristen got her hair and makeup done by Kecia Littman. Being mindful of our equipment, the rest of us planned our trek down the bouldered path to the cove. Without loads of filming gear, it’s actually a pretty comfortable decent. By 7am we were taking the first pics of the day.

It was our first time shooting at this location. Sure the random wind bursts were a constant pain. You’d swear you never saw sand so fine. And, cleaning the sea spray off our lens’ every 20 minutes was troublesome to say the least. But, those things weren’t enough to ruin what was, in itself, an absolutely stunning day.

Kristen did wonderful. Her hazel-green eyes pierced the camera lens with each snap of the shutter. And, she could actually keep up with my quick and constant change of direction and posing suggestions. I’ve been told I speak way to fast during shoots. (Trying to work on that). And, topping off a wonderful day at the beach was a brown-eyed pup who just mosied in to one of our shots to help complete the pose.

The crew shot Kristen StephensonPino at Halona Cove on the island of Oahu. The spot is most famously known for the filming of From Here to Eternity (1953). It was their first time shooting at this location. Though strong winds and sea spray were a constant, it wasn’t enough to dampen an absolutely perfect day at the beach.

Tasha Woodfall‘s photos and video clips were shot at Wai’alae Beach Park on Oahu’s South Shore. The beach is just five miles from Waikiki and located next to the luxurious Kahala Hotel & Resort. Though the area does get a bit crowded, the location proved to be ideal in terms of backdrops (mountain range and extended coastline) and the immediate visual surroundings (baby palms, a miniature peninsula and beautiful hau trees).

What wasn’t on our side was the weather. What started off as a typically sunny day ended up as just the opposite. Clouds, wind and rain eventually blanketed the location just a few hours into the shoot. So, while potential calendar shots were on the agenda, mother nature seemed to say otherwise. Instead of calling it a day, both the shooting staff and Tasha decided to take advantage of the poor weather to create a few additional B&W images for her port.

For being so young, Tasha already has a tremendous amount of experience behind her. Oddly enough though, she is extremely shy at introduction. She was so reserved at our first meeting that we worried about what her energy level would be like on the shoot. However, taking one look at her port told a completely different story. It was filled with a bevy of fantastic images, articles and local cover shots. Truly, she comes alive in front of the camera, and it would have been our loss had we passed on her for this casting.

Zairrah was on location for hair and makeup. Having had worked with Tasha previously, there was a good comfortability between them. And, while it was our first time meeting Zairrah, we’ll definitely request to work with her again. We also interviewed Tasha’s mother Bonnie for the episode. She gave us some insight to Tasha’s earlier years of modeling. All in all, it ended up being an outstanding shoot.
